    In this diagram the seperation between the louder areas vs the quiet areas is made evident by the seperation of the program into two parts. On the left side we see the two theatres secluded seperated by the cistern in the middle, the only interactive spaces that take place are in the lobby and the outdoor area in front of the lobby looking towards the cistern. The theatre begins at the sidewalk creating a barrier forcing the interactor to move around the space and then inside. On the right side we see the same planning with the retail pushed against the sidewalk using the emergency exits as a block on the right side again forcing the interactor to move around and then into the space. Since both the left and right side of the program are at street level and the middle is sunken, open to the noise of the streets, people and all of the activitiess taking place in the outdoor downtown area. Mostly all of the glazing system takes place facing the street or inward towards another part of the program lending to the idea of solar orientation placement to avoid south solar rays and enhance the benefits of using a northeast solar glazing orientation. Not only inviting to the public passing by but pleasing to the person inside of the program reaping the benefits of overhangs given by the floors above the retail, the bridge that connects with the theatres on the second level creating a pleasant breeze when the wind is active. By the use of the cistern we hope to create some natural cooling from water as well as collection from rain and possibly distribution to the programs surrounding. By creating a barrier on both sides of the program leaving the middle open the theatres can receive great acoustical values from the lack of interaction or little interaction that happens very closely to each space. As well as acoustical values the large load bearing walls on either side of the program both can serve as a possible green wall or green roof that can be shaded by the large dowtown buildings that surround the area.

    In the spanning members we have a girder I beam spanning the length of the theatre 48' with a 4'depth. and a 2" web. The long span truss supporting the major load of the roof as well as having a long span has a 6" width witha length of 3'3" {ww.png} {ff.png}
