Point task lighting can be very important in the role you ae trying to achieve, in the retail space you want to have enought lighting to light the merchandise but not too much as to heat up the customers. A average footcandle for indoor task lighting an range from 10-100 FC. Through the approach i have used we see illumination of 40 FC. Since almost half of the space is given natural light from the exterior windows facing northeast we benefit from that although the overhangs from the levels above will block some of the incoming illumination. With an angle of 30 percent Since we have one of the largest program elements as the retail space the FC compared to the lux will range from about 300-400 in lux. Keeping in mind that a retail space performs many visual tasks and can require much illumination ecspecially during night hours this spreadsheet has been ideal in finding the average FC and illumination you would want in such a space.
